May, 1940. German forces mass on the borders of France, Belgium and Holland, preparing to invade. The Allied armies anticipate a repeat of World War 1, and set up a defensive line accordingly. Germany’s Generals have different ideas…
Guerre Éclair is a two player card-driven game covering the German invasion of France, Holland and Belgium in May 1940.
As the German player, your forces begin hidden, and your victory conditions are not fully known by the Allied player. You must use deception, concentration of force, and the power of your Panzer divisions to achieve your goals.
As the Allied player you control French and British forces. You must either spread your armies to protect against all possible avenues of attack, or try to guess German intentions and concentrate for a decisive counter-attack.
Gaining the momentum, selecting the right cards from turn to turn, and tactical positioning of your powerful tank forces are the keys to success. The fate of Western Europe will be decided by this momentous battle.
